After having ADT for 11+ yrs, I got real tired of the glitches and extremely POOR customer service. We chose SimpliSafe and self install.

It was easy and any questions were answered almost instantly. We have a camera for the driveway, across the front of the house including the front door. Picture is awesome and very clear even at night.

I can recommend this system to anyone with a decent WiFi.

We've had Simplisafe for about 3 years. It's always worked well for us. I also found their customer service helpful when I was first getting it set up.

Chuckster57: Had the same experience as you. Had ADT for the life of the contract ~ 4yrs. Seemed like each year the rates were contractually raised. I did not renew at termination of contract and wanted to purchase monitoring through a different company using the ADT installed equipment which I owned. Trouble is, when ADT installed the equipment, they didn't provide the "Install" code, or "Dealer" code for the brain. Without these I couldn't reprogram to use with another company.

I called Corporate many times trying to get the codes only to be told "No, renew your contract and everything will work". Even after explaining that I own the hardware and demand to know the codes to MY hardware.... nope. Finally spoke to a local ADT office who gladly gave me the codes.

As for Simplisafe, I have installed 2 of their systems, 1 in my rental house and 1 in my parents house. Highly recommend.
