Cougar X-Lite 26BHS

We've decided to move on to something new from our 35 year old Prowler and the model we really like is the Cougar X-Lite 26BHS. Does anyone have any experience with this model who could share some of its advantages and disadvantages?

One concern I do have is with the cover over the propane tanks in the front. I want to get a weight distribution hitch and have read where some people have had issues with these hitches and this cover on the Cougars.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Welcome to the forum. You might try doing a search using our search feature and see what you come up with. (Type in the model your are looking at). True, there have been some concerns about the propane shroud and getting hitches to fit properly. Again, try the Search feature --- this topic has already been discussed quite thoroughly.

I have the 2012 cougar xlite 28rbs with the equalizer distribution hitch. I have no problems with the turning radius and the new front cover.

My Laredo has the new front cap. From what I've heard & read, the only problem that arises is with the dual cam sway control system on the Reese WD hitch. Some posts here have over come that problem by moving the battery box before installing that perticular set up. I use the Reese with a friction bar (soon to be two friction bars) & no problem. Hope that helps.....Joe

Thanks for the replies. I'm planning on getting the Equalizer hitch so I'm glad to hear you don't have any issues when using it.

Thanks again

If you get a power tongue jack, the new front nose access can be limited by the type of jack and size of the powerhead. I bought the Fulton Bull Dog and it was right up on the propane cover. I turned it 90 degrees and I got more space. I just bought an Atwood which has the powerhead more centered than most other power jacks.
Well, this isn't want you asked but since it was about the new nose design clearance I figured to drop 2 bits in.

I have the 2012 Cougar 28RBS.
