Damp Inside

Hello. Long time no type. Well I have been using my 2012 Cougar for my home away from home for the last 3 years. I brought it home about 2 months ago and opened it up to make some repairs underneath. I did not perfectly level it up. Well the last week we have had monsoonal rains here in SW Virginia and today I noticed it was damp under the curb side slide. Upon further inspection I found the moisture was all the way into the middle of the living room as well as around the b/r slide. The outer seals are in need of replacement but I do not feel this is the cause of the moisture. Any ideas? Could it just be from all the rain and humidiry and not an actual leak?

On my 2011 there is a bulb seal on the outside edge of the slide. That keeps the rain out when it's closed. Just replaced mine a couple of months ago.

The rain shouldn’t make it wet inside unless there is a leak of some sort. If it’s not quite level maybe the heavy rain found its way past a seal it normally wouldn’t if it were level. Let us know what you find.

I am in the process of replacing the slide sweeper seals. The top seals and a couple of the side seals are shot. Basically a gooey mess now. I am most certain that is the. Cause. Plus a ton of debris has found its way under the seals from lack of maintenance (it was setup as a home away from home under a tree for 2+ years). Fingers crossed this will fix it.

Sweeper seals come in a variety of profiles and width. Make sure you match it up.

Is the water on a down hill side? Do you know which way the rain was blowing? Knowing some of that would start a search of a certain area for a leak. Having stuff incoming during the pad stay would show where the trailer is open to the outside.
