We were there last July and stayed at Peninsula State Park-it's a very nice park and campground near Fish Creek. We were lucky to get reservations for a spot about a month before we went there, someone must have cancelled their reservation. Most, if not all, of the roads in the campground are paved. Electricity is available at quite a few sites, water is available to fill your tank when you arrive and there is a dump station for when you leave. Lots of nice hiking trails in the park, too. They are picky about firewood because of EAB-they only want you to burn what they sell at the park. There is a big fenced area (near the dump station) to buy wood, but only during certain hours. You will need to buy a Wisconsin State Park sticker to get in-it's kind of pricey but an annual one is cheaper than a daily if you stay for more than three days.
Head north and take the Washington Island Ferry-definitely worth the trip.
We hit a couple of breweries: Shipwrecked Microbrewery (also a restaurant) in Egg Harbor and Door County Brewing Company (no restaurant) in Bailey's Harbor.
Check out Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant in Sister Bay. Good food and there are goats grazing on the grass roof (that is not flat) of the place. You really have to see it to believe it.
There are also lots of shops, museums and tours. A big product there is cherries, so anything cherry is available.
Hope this helps!
