Mississipi valley Iowa Wis Minn suggestions ???

Time restraints have caused me to rethink my October trip. Wanted Lake Superior but leaving that for next year....
Thinking of heading over to the Prairie Du Chien to La Crosse area.

What do you guys think?
Places to see in fall? Maybe a little bike ride?

Perrot State Park. Site 33 if you can get it, we were in 34 over Labor Day. 33 is nice and big pretty easy to get into 34 wasn't bad. 30 amp on site, dump and fill station in the campground (its tight for a decent sized rig) Rent a canoe, bike ride, hike plenty to do, leaves should have good color on the bluffs. Only downside, Mosquitos, hopefully frost will take care of them by the time you'd get there.

Are you just camping, fishing, or what? I personally like things a little further north than La Crosse, If you go up to Rice Lake, Hayward area there is a lot of beautiful scenery, lakes, and campgrounds to choose from. If you head a bit east from there it just continues in the Minocqua/Eagle River area.

In Minnesota, State Parks, Whitewater & Forestville are great.
Lanesboro has many private campgrounds like Eagle Cliff, Old Barn...and awesome bike trails are very close and nice sites.

In Wisconsin, State Parks, Wyalusing has awesome views, Perrot is great,
The Sparta bike trail is good, but I don't know campgrounds that are close.

Ended up at Pike's Peak State Park at McGregor Iowa. Beautiful little park. Great walking trails. Wonderful overlooks of the Mississippi River valley. Colors may have been slightly past peak but still gorgeous.

On one morning the whole valley was full of fog right up to the lookout at the park with a sunny sky. Looked like you could walk right out on it.
