MPG and size of towable

From my experience, reducing the size of your towable RV won't make much difference as the 'mamawildbear' said in the first post, as wind resistance is the key factor. We had a 19' lite travel trailer and got the usual 9-10 mpg towing it, and upgraded to a light 30' 5ver. If anything, it seems like the heavier 5ver gets slightly better MPG.

The real difference is the wind resistance, and the wind on that day.

Truthfully, the 5ver is probably worse, I'm probably just happy it wasn't a lot worse!

my experience with my light weight. I have an ultra-lite Premier 19 and it's moderately stocked, it's dry weight is 4200 pounds. I tow with an F150 ecoboost. I just got back from a weekend trip about 200 miles from the house. I traveled on or near the speed limits that were anywhere between 45 to 70, my average speeds for most the trip was 60 mph, for the short stint on the interstate I kept it at about 65. My mileage there was 10.3, and back was 10. I've gotten average anywhere between 8.5 in strong headwinds, to 11 running. I often stop and fill up at the 1/2 tank mark sometimes just to strength the legs
