Hot water heater

I have a new 14 Keystone 3620FL and have a question about the hot water heater. When the tech was showing me everything he told me that most folks just run the hot water on electric, and showed me a black on and off switch by the tank. I have been doing some reading here, and it appears that some run it with the electric on as well as the LP to help it recover faster. Is this safe, and possible? And is it advisable? As you can see I'm new to this!

Happy Days, yes it is safe to run your water heater on both electric and propane together. Have done it for years. You have a faster recovery that way. Just make sure you turn the switch off prior to packing up and hitting the road or it will remain in the on position all the time. My current 5TH wheel has the electrical switch on the monitor panel (Atwood water heater) very convenient. Suburban has it on the unit itself. When we arrive at our destination and get all hooked up we turn it on. Happy Campin....

Happy Days,

In addition to RdRmr's reply ~~ check your New RV Packet [should have come with the trailer], there should be a
Water Heater Manual included. Here's some similar discussions which may be helpful.
