Another TV Amplifier ?

My TV amplifier light does not come on. I've check the fuse and it's OK. Although I don't get 12 Vts at the amp switch. So that's confusing. Is it possible that a loose cable connector (therefore breaking the connection) and the light won't come on? I do travel many rough roads so things get loose. Do these amps go bad? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If its a Wineguard amplifier and it was installed in a small cutout hole in the ceiling or wall like mine is, the terminal the power wire is connected to might have broken loose from the soldered connection. Mine did this when being forced into the hole. I re-soldered it and was back in business.

I have checked the electrical connectors, they are good but I do not get 12 Vt at the switch plate and the fuse is good. I have not yet checked the cable connectors on top of the TT. That be my next project.

If you have a Winegard antenna system then your problem is not in your roof connections but is a break in the +/-12v wiring between your switch plate and the +/-12v in your TT. The break can be the on the + or - wire or both.

See Fig 10 in the Winegard installation manual here:

Update....I found a blown fuse. But I also found that the blown fuse did not operate the Radio/CD player as labeled on the fuse panel. The labeled TV fuse actually operated the radio/CD player. I know, the manuafactories just like to test us lay people.

Thanks for the update, glad you found the problem. About half of my 12v fuses are unlabeled and I have my doubts about the correctness of the one that are labeled.

Tracing them down and verifying is on my list of projects to do
