Alpine battery -charged while driving?

I am new to this forum thing but thought I would try it as I am a little puzzled by a problem. We recently purchased a 2007 Raptor 3612DS toy hauler. I think it should charge the batteries when I am towing. I pulled it 700 miles from where we purchased it to where we live. It isn't charging at all when hooked to the tow vehicle. My previous RV did charge so I don't think its a truck issue
