Fan in Refrigerator Running

I have a 2015 Carbon 357 that is only a couple months old and I just noticed a fan running that is audible from the outside of the camper. Is this normal? It's on shore power and in "auto" so it the fridge is running on 110 and not propane but I worry about it draining the batteries if I'm boondocking. Will the fan run on propane as well? My 2007 5'er that I traded in didn't do this. I think the fridge is a norcold and my old one was a dometic.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The fan operates on 12V and is activated by a temp sensor/switch. It moves air over the cooling unit to help keep things cold when it gets hot outside. It will operate any time the temps in the cabinet reach the threshold of the switch. Will it drain your battery when your boondocking? Sure, but how long will it take depends on a few factors like the condition of the battery(s), how long the fan runs etc
