Back again - schwintek slide twisting

Back again for some much needed advice. Bedroom slide is fully in, tried to put slide out and the slide moves out about an inch then it starts to twist. Went to the controller to reprogram/resync, pushed little button 6 times and held on button on 7th time, red light flashes, but the green light never comes on per Lippert's instructions. Tomorrow I am will swap one of the living room slide controllers with the bedroom slide and see if that makes a difference. I am sure someone here will have some excellent input. Thanks in advance.

If both of the LEDs aren’t blinking then you might need to close the room then start extending until the room binds, then look at the controller for an error code.

One LED will blink 1 or 2 times followed by the other blinking up to 9 times. Post results.

Hitting the little button doesn’t resynch, it just puts the controller in override

Hi chuckster57, I will try in the morning to see if any light will flash a code. Didn't see any lights come on the controller when I was working on the system. What do you think about swapping out a controller? I switched the wiring at the controller for each motor and nothing changed, still the same side the stops moving.

Try with the same controller first. Make sure you swap the motor wires back, leaving them switched will make the motors run “backwards”.

Swapping motor wires and same side sticks, is usually a motor issue.

We’ll discuss that after you try getting a code. There are ways.

Just rebooted the controller, only red light flashes when complete, green light does not come on. Tried slide and same thing happens, starts twisting. While switch is depressed the red and green lights flash on controller, when switch is released the red and green lights remain on, then turn off shortly after.

Ok. If the room is retracted and the motor cables are plugged into the correct slots:

Press Extend for 2 seconds and let go. Then press and hold retract until no noise from motors. Repeat 2 times.

Then press extend for 5 seconds and let go. Then press and hold retract until no more motor noise. Repeat 2 times.

Then try to extend room. If it twists then check for trouble code(s).

Should, don’t waste any time getting there though.

Could be a bad motor. You need the slide out extended far enough to access the small set screw that holds the motor in place.

Try the small rubber button override.

do you mean the gray override button at controller. Remember slide is stuck in and I can't get to motor. The slide in only inches from walls on each side

Yes I mean use the override feature. You may have to have a second person push on the stuck side.

No problem. I’m at work and the only tech in the shop today so responses may be slow.

Took the schwintek slide apart on the left side. With a neighbors help, we found that the motor was/is working and that the bottom gear wasn't moving. Removed all of the screws holding track and wiggled and shimmed while he engaged the slide. Low and behold the slide moved. Yahoo! Removed entire left side track assembly. Top and bottom gears were fine, bottom roller could be a little tighter, but not bad. The lower track had some minor wear at the outer 4 or 5 inches, not severe either. Noticed that the entire lower shoe assembly didn't move freely. After I lubed the track (now in my hand) the shoe slid nicely. Ordered a new track, can only order an entire kit. Rollers, shoes, some blocks and upper and lower tracks. $407, plus tax and shipping, ouch. I believe the entire problem was a lack of lubrication, you can bet you sweet _ _ _, they will be lubed frequently. Does any know what one sided tape is used on the back side of the tracks. Lippert say's the manufacturer installs that. A big thank you to chuckster57 for your time and help.

Amazon did have 2 high torque motors listed. One was OEM at $257, and the other was a knock off for $145. The cheap one was unavailable last time I looked. I will have a spare before our next long trip.
Being stranded in a PILOT truck stop in Jackson MS on Easter morning is not something I want to do again.
