The thermostat should control the furnace. Should be a heat mode, then set the temp. Then you should hear the blower kick on. The blower will run for a few seconds (10-15) before the furnace ignites. You need to make sure your LP tank valves are open. Always purge any air out of the line by lighting the stove and let the burners run for about 30 seconds before trying to start the furnace, water heater, or fridge on LP. Those three appliances all have a control board that will open the gas valve for the appliance and start the DSI (direct spark ignition). If there is air in the line and the appliance doesn’t light, the board will shut off the gas flow and go into a bypass mode for safety purposes. If all is good, the furnace should light, you may hear the DSI or not, but you will hear the flame start. You can also verify by checking the furnace exhaust vent outside for hot air (I don’t like checking the floor vents, just personal preference. Depending on outside temps, the difference in air temp may not be that much)
You do not need to be connected to shore power, the furnace is a 12v system, but you do need a good charge on the battery.
The power switch is typically turned on during installation. You shouldn’t have to worry about it. The dealership should also have done a pdi and verified operation.
