A lot of Texas state law enforcement employees are doing rotations to the border as well. My cousin is a Texas Game Warden and she is doing 2 week rotations.
The state of Texas is sacrificing a lot to do what the Feds won't do.

We just completed a 3600+/- mile trip from Arizona to Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado & back to Arizona in the car traveling only back roads as much as possible & found the road conditions were better than most interstates, much less traffic, cheaper fuel, better mileage due to slower speeds & travel times were about equal making the trip very enjoyable. Although we spent the fuel saving $$ on hotels, which is another story all together, we miss the rv for times like this.
