New Member Recognition
My primary posting specialty in this forum has always been RV trailer tires. Since tire posts have fallen off dramatically I’ve decided to honor new members with some place we parked our RV in their state. I’m starting with the list's last entry. Some of the RV Parks/CGs will be military as we used them when available and in our traveling agenda at the time.

My first visit to San Francisco, actually Treasure Island was in 1957. I spent two weeks their waiting for Naval air transportation to my next duty station… Hawaii. Being at TI afforded me the opportunity to visit San Francisco, Oakland, and others.
Many years later while RVing around the country we spent 2 weeks at the Naval Air Station, Lemoore, CA. We had been stationed there from 1973 – 1977.

NM and AZ are loaded with Indian Reservations. Probably half of them are partly supported by casinos. Many of those casinos will have some sort of RV parking. Some are quite secure and within a short walk to the casino facilities.
One time when traveling east on I-40 we saw a billboard for the Dancing Eagle Casino RV Park near Casa Blanca, NM. We were near our daily traveling limit and decided to check-it out. We just stayed the one night and only put out one slide. It was a short walk to the casino restaurant. After dinner we applied for casino playing cards which came with a $10 fuel coupon (each card). When leaving the next morning we used the coupons when filling-up at their fuel station right across the street from the RV Park.
It’s a very easy overnight place to stay being very secure and quite inexpensive.

A large state and one we have traveled extensively in. So I have the opportunity to list a RV Park in your neighborhood, so to speak.
When staying in or near a large metropolitan area, a lot of homework in the selection of an RV Park for a 10-14 day stay is needed. We’re seniors and prefer to stay at senior parks. However they are sometimes hard to find so we opt to stay in ones without much national attention. But, with adequate amenities. It was our first time in the Nashville area. Our choice ended up being Two Rivers CG near Opryland. From the CG we took several tours that started and returned us to the CG.
We have stayed at more than 10 RV Parks, CGs and state parks in TN. When I see other new members from TN I’ll list a different one.

There is a USN bombing range just east of Carson City. Being in Naval Aviation I was at NAS Fallon numerous times thru the years. The road from Fallon to Lake Tahoe took us right through Carson City. It’s a Beautiful little capital city.
We visited the Lake Tahoe area during our RVing years but parked our RV trailer at Reno. Reno, being a compact little city, downtown RV parking was hard to find. Just finding a parking place of any sort is nearly out of the question for the traveler. Then we found the Reno RV Park. Compact parking made this old sailor feel like getting on a train in Tokyo. But, we had a FHU including Wi-Fi and multi channel cable TV and all located right at the office. Right at the park entrance was a city bus stop that provided 24/7 service and we used it daily. One block away there was a full service grocery store. So for our weeklong visit we were in a very cramped parking space that we used just like a motel room.

Tight back-in sites like that really put a strain on our tires.

I’ve camped a lot in and around your neck of the woods. I was born and raised not far away in North Berwick, ME.
Until just a few years ago my cousin Jan Hussy and her husband Dan owned and managed Whit’s End CG at West Ossipee.
The first time we visited their CG, they built us a nice private site and run us in 50 AMP electrical services, water and gray water dumping. It was near the seasonal sites and just a short walk to the CG store and Bear Champ River.
Here are a few pictures of our 1st parking site. We carried about 200’ of TV coax cable for our dish antenna connections and had to use almost all of it to find a signal.

Yup! Right on the same highway -9- in Berwick. The CG is a stones throw from the North Berwick township line, my hometown.

Yes it is. The stretch from St Ignace to Manistee is filled with places to pull off the side of the highway (parking is wide enough in many for a truck/trailer combination to easily stop and clear the roadway/shoulder) and walk down to the water's edge. By the way, it's fresh water, no sharks, jellyfish and only an occasional seagull to steal your picnic lunch....

Well, a new member from FL. I’ve been waiting for you so I could boast a little about our adopted home state. We lived at various places in FL for a little more than 23 years. We had two houses built from the ground up in the Jacksonville area. So, we have traveled extensively in FL. Personally, I’ve been stationed at, or visited just about every military base in FL, including the US Central Command at MacDill AFB at Tampa which has a huge RV Park.
Just before we decided to sell everything and go RVing we had looked at a senior retirement community near Winter Haven called Four Lakes Golf. But we opted to put that on hold until we were forced to find a base camp, so to speak.
After our first year of traveling we decided to take a few months rest stop and found a wonderfully accommodating place at St. Petersburg. The Robert’s Mobile Home & RV Resort Park has three entrances going onto three different roads. From the park you can visit every well known attraction in the Tampa, St Pete area. We spent 3 months there and stayed on the go just about every day.

We could wash our truck once a week and the trailer once a month. We just had to put our name on a list at the office so they could insure no one place got wash water flooded.

Have you ever been to the Garlyn Zoo off US 2 in Naubinway? That place is a hidden gem as far as I am concerned They have the best animals. The Wolf area is awesome. Got to watch them Howl too.

Yup, we bottle fed a bear cub there a couple years ago. It's an "ideal destination/rest stop" for the Slingshot rides. We leave here, stop at Lehto's for a pastie, take it slow on US 2 enjoying the overlooks, rest areas/cliffs, stop at Garlyn's for an hour or so, then head north in Engadine toward Newberry, then east to Tahquamenon Falls and then a "sunset ride" to Bay Mills, a quiet supper, spend the night and head to Ste Saint Marie to watch the freighters on the Soo Locks, then south to cross the bridge and head east to Roger's City, Alpena (for supper at Nowicki's Sausage Shoppe, then home for a well deserved rest.....
