Bored? Got some flower pictures from your travels? Post them here and help cheer us up.
These two pictures were taken by me at the Joshua Tree National Park. Their mailing address is at Twentynine Palms, CA.
You will miss a lot of detail if you don't click on the pictures to enlarge them.

My DD is an "artist" who makes paper flowers. Why? They are "permanent memories of special events" and they are the only "flowers" allowed in ICU facilities (infection control). For me, the most "special arrangement" she made is a bridal bouquet with a large center rose. That paper rose was made from a letter her grandfather sent to her grandmother to save for their daughter (the bride's mother) that he'd never seen because she was born after he left for Viet Nam. He never made it home to hold his daughter and that letter was one of the very few "memories" the bride had of her grandfather.

Our favorites are the bright fuschia beavertail cactus from central Arizona, and from Hill Country, Texas, the fields of wild bluebells, Indian paintbrushes, and whatever those yellow ones are (stumping DW on nature is rare).

I-26 in NC
The dogwood trees are in full bloom in our area of the country right now.
One time while traveling west of Ashville NC on I-40 we stopped and parked in a rest area under these beautiful pink dogwoods.

North Hero Island, VT
While on a one week rest stop at the Apple Island RV Resort on North Hero Island, VT; there was a beautiful and well manicured nine hole golf course and that’s where I found these flowers, just outside the little club house.

While waiting in line to buy buggy ride tickets to see the old section of town, I saw this string of flowers on a nearby tree. I asked the lady selling the tickets if she knew their name, she replied “Oh yes, they’re common throughout the old section”. They are called “Foxgloves”. I looked them up, their color is “Camelot Lavender”.

Just a note: My history with Kennebunkport dates back to the mid to late 1940s when my father launched his home made lobster boats there. He built one in our three story barn every year. Back then, Kennebunkport was just a small fishing port. Lobsters and sardines topped the list. In the late 1940s it became popular for the lobster boats to sport a harpoon boom in the chance of running across blue tuna. I spent many an hour standing on those booms on the way back into port.
Young eels would swarm into the port with the spring tides and it became popular for some of the locals to capture them to sell for fresh water bait fishing.

Del Rio, TX
When parked at the Laughlin AFB CG at Del Rio, TX there was an empty field out behind our parking site. It had loads of smallish wild flowers growing there. One day I went out and picked a small bouquet and put them in a small salt shaker to help show their actual size.
