converter wiring

I have a WFCO WF-9800 series converter. I'm trying to disconnect the battery wires so I can replace one that is burned and corroded. The operator's manual says to use a 5/16" hex driver. The problem is the hole on top of the terminal block is too small for that to fit into. It's located in a rather congested area so I can't really get a look into the hole to see. Is there a trade secret that I haven't found yet?

I use an Allen set and the short end fits in the connector and the long end allows for leverage. Hope this helps.
