Hydraulics, repair or replace

I have had the front jacks rebuilt due to leaking seals and replaced one slide out ram (they cannot be rebuilt) for the same reason. I now have another slide out ram starting to leak and would like to find a source for a ram that could be rebuilt if needed.

Does anyone have any ideas???

Have you by any chance talked to a John Deere or Kubota dealer about rebuilding your ram? They probably won't have a place big enough for you to park your trailer and they likely would object to working on the trailer to remove/install the ram, but if you can get it off the trailer and take it to them, I'd almost bet that they can rebuild most any hydraulic ram. It's really not much more than cleaning the piston, replacing O-rings and solenoids. What "makes magic in a Kubota" is the same stuff that "makes magic in a Keystone"..... I'd bet it'll be half the price of an RV dealer as well.....

The problem is that the rams that Lippert uses on the slides are crimped on the ends and cannot be rebuilt. I have had the jacks rebuild by a local shop.

I was able to find the slide rams on the Trekwood site for your rig, and was surprised that the rams have aluminum bodies instead of steel, so maybe that is why they are not made to rebuild. They use dimensions of fitting to fitting, and show 38", 32", and 24" rams.

It is very strange that the longest ram, 38", is the cheapest at $212.46.
The 32" is $300.39, and the 24" is $240.30.
I'm also pretty sure that the slide rams on our 2012 Montana have steel bodies and appear to be rebuildable. Instead of trying to get them rebuilt, maybe a hydraulic shop could make new rams from scratch out of steel, and you may never have to mess with them again.

I will ask my rebuilder if they have a solution. Yes mine are aluminum and very cheap.
