Lippert 6 way level, and 3 room sliders help?

2013 Alpine 3535RE, six way hydraulic level up, three hydraulic sliders (The bedroom electric/cable works fine):

All of a sudden, I need to do the exact opposite first. I'll explain... If I want to bring the slides in, I have to push the out button till I hear the pump kick in, then push the in button. If I only push the in first, nothing happen, except relay clicks.

Same with the leveling jacks. If I want to retract the front jacks, I have to extend them an inch or two first, then retract. I hear all of the relays clicking, just no action, until I go the "Wrong way first". I already replaced the 12v 30 amp circuit breaker with a 50amp. There is another one, harder to reach, should I do this one too?

Any other Ideas?

Thanks,

If you can get Chuck S to chime in he knows the Alpines inside and out. That includes the hydraulic systems. He should be able to help.

The first thing I would check are the battery terminals. Remove the cables, clean connections. Check other connections in the system.

What it sounds like to me is the dual polarity solenoid that runs the hyd pump motor may be getting weak... you can manually verify if that solenoid is working correctly.

Lippert 6 way level, and 3 room sliders help?

Since the issue is common to both the leveling system and hyd slides the issue has to be either the dual polarity solenoid or the motor itself.

Two separate control switches send signal to that dual polarity solenoid to run pump motor CW or CCW. The likely hood of two separate control switches being bad isn’t logical

I’d check for loose cable lead from solenoid to motor... if good then you can remove both CW and CCW leads from solenoid. Touch one of the removed leads to center post and motor should run. Try other removed cable to center post and motor run.

NOTE... when testing solenoid nothing will move because you have not sent signal to leveler hyd solenoids or slide solenoid to open.

Only run for just a second or so. The pressure cutoff switch will kill power once hyd pressure limit is reached

If hyd pump motor runs CW and CCW doing above test but not with leads hooked to there respective post on dual polarity solenoid then you know solenoid is bad. Else... if you still have issues doing above test by jumping DC positive directly to motor and it runs one direction but not other then you know issue is with the motor itself.

This is the Lippert TI on how to properly test dual polarity solenoid. Hadn’t had first cup of java yet so not thinking clearly ... if I ever do...

Wonder if the issue was resolved with the hyd pump motor

ChuckS, Where did you get the picture for the dual polarity solenoid?

Took me a while to figure out your ID. I read all your info on here and the Alpine group. Your a real blessing to us RV folks. Thanks

I would recommend you go back to 30 amp breakers also as I'm sure your wiring is not able to handle 50 amps which is what the breaker is there for to begin with. Should you actually ever draw 50 amps and your breaker is still holding a wire fire may be in your future.

Chuck,
Thanks for the picture, I've saved it to my troubleshooting file.

Hope to visit retired AF friends in Mountain Home next year.
