Dometic DM2852 question.

Having problems restarting the fridge on Auto but finally got it to start on Gas only setting. Now appears to have gone out after a few hours. Question is does the Gas only setting shut down when set temperature is reached and restart when needed?
Thanks,
Warren.

Yes it will that. Leave the door open a bit and see if it comes back on (lights up).

Thanks CTB:
I just checked again and there is evidence that the temperature in the freezer has dropped below freezing even though no flame. Frost is forming on the back wall of the freezer and the ice cubes in the tray I placed inside earlier have iced up and no evidence of melting on surface of cubes.
I'll check fuses in the black box in the outside cabinet in the morning hoping that's the source of the AC failure.

Thanks again & Merry Christmas.

If you're home or around Langley, BC, you may be in a situation where the propane can't heat the ammonia sufficiently to cause it to boil. If that happens, you'll stop cooling and the "CHECK" light will illuminate as the refrigerator interior warms. This doesn't always happen, but can occur any time the ambient temperature is low enough to absorb the heat from the propane flame faster than the ammonia can be heated. If the ammonia can't be "boiled" the refrigerator will cease cooling. While this may not be your problem, it's possible that your refrigerator is operating properly and it's the outside temperature that's causing your problem. If it works during the day, but gives you problems when the sun goes down and it's cooler, you might want to see if it works better on electric than on gas. If so, it may be that it's just too cold to keep itself cool (sounds paradoxical, eh??)
