Slow Shower or Tub Drain????

This has been cross posted to other forums. I hope it helps to explain how to remove and clean waterless traps.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Looks like the trap can be accessed through the panel at the bottom of the shower stall.

You are correct. Be sure to have something to lay over the edge of the opening, it can be rather rough. It is basically a one handed operation unless you are very nimble.

Thanks for the post. I've not had to do it, and it looks about like I figured it would, but it's nice to know exactly what you're getting into.

So when did they start using these? Can't say I've ever seen or heard of one. Looks like a PIA and more expensive/trouble than a plain old P trap.

The P trap in my previous camper had to be cut through the top layer of the floor in order to fit. Extra work. And if it dries out your nose knows it.

I was thinking the samething when I read all of that. Like why change everything over when the P trap has been proven for yrs? Also the access panel is a pretty easy way to get in and take apart the P trap if needed.

I guess after thinking about it all my bath P traps have been in fivers for the last 15-20 years or so which puts them above the "hollow" behind the basement, or sometimes hanging down into the basement. I guess a TT without that area below the "upstairs" might be a different story. Still looks like a PIA to deal with.
