Battery Charging

I have a Keystone 2015 Bullet 248RKS. Ran the battery down of the last trip and could not charge. The dealer thought it was the battery but later determined it was the Converter. Replace the Converter but when I got it home, the battery looks like was never charged. I plugged it in all day and nothing. Then, I thought, perhaps the 12 volts has to be on. That seemed to work. Plugged it in overnight and the battery is 3/4 charged. I didn't know the 12 volts has to be on to charge. Is this correct?

I'm not sure what you mean by 12v being on but yes, the battery has to be connected, the cutoff switch has to be on so that 12v can make it to the converter. The charger sends the charging current to the battery through the same wires that feed the 12v to the camper.

Your converter, when activated, sends 12v to your DC panel and to your battery. When a breaker if OFF, nothing gets to the appliance/light. If your battery switch is OFF, then the battery will not receive 12v (nominal) from the converter.

Battery Charge

Thanks all - played with it and found out that the 12 volt cutoff switch, post factory install, has to be on to charge the battery.
