2011 2500HD compared with 2013 model
Are there any major differences between a 2011 and 2013 Chevy 2500LTZ?
Are they basically cosmetic?
Cheers
Jon

I have a 2012 LTZ (see sig). The only difference I know is that the woodgrain dash accents were changed to polished nickel. Nicer in my opinion. I believe all else if pretty much the same.

If you are talking Duramax, there were subtle changes with the emission junk between 11 and 13. I think it had to do with the DEF tank.
I don't believe they have made many changes on the Gas powertrain in quite a while.

I believe the changes they made to the DEF system were incorporated in the recall that was done on the 11s. They initially had problems with cold weather, but that was fixed. Not aware of any other changes.

That's the changes i was referring to as well as a ton of service bulletins. Aside from the freezing DEF issue...I think they had a problem with NOX sensors as well, which I have heard they usually blame on bad DEF. Over on the DuramaxForum there is a 76 page thread on DEF/emissions problems.

I did have one NOX sensor go bad in my 2011 2500. It was covered under the 100k mile warranty. I blamed it on myself, letting the truck idle too much during the cold winter last year. Haven't had any other problems.

2011 2500HD compared with 2013 model
I'm looking at a 2011 on Monday that has all I need (hitch, bed roller cover as against importing a 2013 (unknown except for carfax report) with about 10,000 more miles on it, so appreciate your comments. The emission recall may not have been done here in Aust. but will not have any freezing issues with DEF either.
Cheers
Jon
