Exhaust brakes don`t work on gas engines because they don`t have enough compression/backpressure. If stopping or slowing down is an issue for you, buy a good brake controller and let the camper slow you down, the drum brakes in the camper axles will last a long time and are much cheaper to replace than OEM rotors and pads. Another alternative I think is a good option for those that are concerned with wearing out their vehicles brakes or glazing pads is this...buy a larger diameter rotor with slots cut out to dissipate heat and reduce pad glazing and rotor warpage, and also go with a good high quality set of pads. I won't recommend any rotors or pads because the aftermarket world for those is huge and opinions vary strongly. Do your research and make up your own mind which option is best for you. Just my opinion.
