Confused about who makes what

Since KS hasn't responded can someone help with this? I have a 2010 Keystone Springdale.
I would like to "upgrade" to nicer TT. I thought that KeyStone actually made the Springdale, Cougar, ultra lights, etc. et.al.
But in reading some posts I'm getting the idea that the various models are made by different companies. I'm I off the mark?

Springdale, Cougar and others are all Keystone products. For a complete listing of Keystone RV's, you can go to their website and have a look at all of their models.

In my humble opinion Keystone is a manufacturing company who have various different brand managers who manage these different brands. These brands may or may not be built in the same manufacturing plants. This is similar to the automotive and construction equipment companies and how they produced their products.

The brand manager may have under him the manufacturing process, the engineers, sales team and accountants all reporting to him. He is than responsible to upper level management such as the president and board of directors and his performance is judge on his earnings and sales reports.

Yes, GM is the manufacturing corporation and Buick/GMC/Chevy are some of the brands that are managed by a brand manager.

Look at the price tags. That'll sure give you an indication.
Presently we're going to order an 2014 Cougar High Country 321RES....

Looking at the weights of the TT can help here. I am not saying it is the tell all but a good indication. You can get a 35ft bumper to hitch TT in some lines with a dry weight of 6000pds. Another line you could not get a 29ft camper bumper to hitch dry weight under 6500pds.

The same camper in that line that is 34ft weighs in at 8300pds dry. Same layout, seems to be the same fridge and what not, the weight has to be in the material used. I may be off my rocker, not sure but weight is one thing I look at not only for if I can tow it but as a quality factor.

KS is still too busy to answer my email so again I ask everyone's help. I'm seeing alot of "lite" TTs. And I guess I understand the concept but I have no clue if this is a "good" thing or not. I will do VERY little traveling in ant unit I buy, I just want what best/safest/longest lasting. (don't we all!"

We have a 2011 295RE Outback lite. We love this TT. Last weekend coming home from the beach, we were passing other trucks and TTs going up a steep grade over the mountain. Our TV is an 09, 2500 Chevy with tow package. Hardly know that trailer is back there. If we had to get a new trailer, would definitely go with another lite.
