battery goes dead

what would cause the battery on our 2012 cougar 318 go dead when we r hooked to shoreline power and then nothing on 12 volt system doesnt work but air cond and microwave still work thanks for any help

A/C AND MICROWAVE ARE 120 VOLT UNITS. Is the battery really dead? did you check it with a volt meter? and does the 12 volt stuff work when unplugged from shor power? i know there are fuses on the back of the converter but i do not know your unit well enough if you can post the answers when you have time some of us here should be able to help you out.

CHeck your battery cut off switch. You may have inadvertently moved it while hooking up. Otherwise check your fuses in the panel by the door.
There's also a breaker labeled "lower end". This feeds your converter, turn it all the way off then back on.

rollertan that is interesting about the battery cut off. on mine with the cut off in theoff position every thing works but the sildes go figure

Yeah, they put the cutoff switch in the water hookup compartment along with the outside shower and cable hook up. I always thought water and electric don't play well together. Granted the connections are behind the panel, but then again so are the water connections,

In my FZ260 it's inside rite above the fuse panel and the darn dog keeps turning it off on me.
