Water heater valve

Hey all. I have a 2018 Sprinter front living 5er. Cannot fund a way to reach the water heater shutoff valve. I can see it under the sink but several feet away. I found a small hole in the storage area with a flap to gain access. Problem is that I still cannot reach the valve. I can barely touch it with my middle finger. I am considering cutting a lager hole to access. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike

Haven’t found anything that can be removed. The access he appears to be in the wrong location. I will remedy with a second or larger hole for access. Good idea though. Thanks

I did find that the entire panel can be removed. It is the full width and height of the cargo area so while possible, not very practical. Would have to remove all items stored in this area to completely remove the panel. Still going to make a larger access hole in this panel.

On my Forest River trailer, I had a similar situation. The hole was 4" around. That got me to my elbow I got a 6" holesaw and made the hole bigger. I just didn't want the storage area open to the interior. I bought and stained a piece of 1/8" plywood. I cut into a solid circle to cover the hole with 2 protrusions with holes to screw it on (see inspiration picture). Click image for larger version

The only real difference from the picture (besides the giant hole) was the bottom hole was a slot to allow it to swing in and tighten down.

Cannot find a picture of that mod, thus far. Not sure if I renamed it to something I cannot figure out the name of ...
