Close but no cigar! Lol! I did trade my 08 Duramax in but not for a late model Dodge. I got a 2016 Ram 3500 drw with the Aisin tranny and 4.10 gearing. Might as well get the big boy.

You started this asking a question,, stopping payment of a check and many replied for helpful advice. Let us know how it worked out. We know you purchased the trailer but, why and could you or not back out of the sale. It's nice to hear the rest of the story and may be helpful to others.

Sorry guys for leaving you hanging. I just bit the bullet and went through with the sale. For one I didn't want to have any kind of negative effect on my credit. Second I found plenty of people who pulled that type of weight with the similar truck. After a few trips I ended up selling my 08 Duramax which had a very good resale value and purchased a 2016 Ram 3500 drw which can more than handle the weight of my 5th wheel. The difference is night and day although I do miss my srw Duramax sometimes the Cummins is bullet proof.

I like how you say there were several people who pulled that type of weight with a similar truck and the difference is night and day with the dually. You have now entered the group of us who now know what we didn't know. Congratulations.

I have a friend who rented a TT, 29', 7k lbs, pulled it with an 08 Expedition, 4 pin light connection (no brakes), and no WDH. He said everything was fine. I reminded him that all is well in a straight line in normal conditions, but he would have been in bad shape if anything would have gone wrong. I can't believe the company allowed him to leave like that. He is still in the group of people who doesn't know what he doesn't know.
