This can be done without a problem it won't leak as the pressure is less than 1 PSI.

will i went to the propane company they put the QC fitting on one end
they said they would not do the other end no barbs on the coleman fitting
he said only 1/2 psi and if i put a clamp on that end should be alright.
he did said that he would not leave it conected to the trailer with gas on
when not in use.

The quick connect on my TT has a shut off valve that I turn off rather than disconnect the hose. He is correct that there are not any barbs for hooking the hose to the grill fitting but as you found out it is very low pressure and will not blow apart if you use a small hose clamp and check it every now and then. Enjoy your new grill hook up. Oh, and save the regulator because you can reattach it and be back to using high pressure gas if you want too.

Assuming Keystone used a Fairview(brand) QC on the trailer side, they did on my Outback, the QC shutoff must be turned off to connect or disconnect the hose. Good safety feature because QCs have been known to leak.
