Pittsburh PA New Born EAGLETS
A little break from RVing, just wanted to share celebrating the Bald Eagle births in Pittsburgh PA . First Bald Eagle birth in 200 years here in Pittsburgh, no I do not remember last time All three eggs hatched and if interested there is separate clips for each birth also on the web site. If you have problems with the live CAM link below you can google Pittsburgh Bald Eagles. By the way there is also a short clip when the mother was awaken while sitting on eggs by a Raccoon. Lets see Bald Eagle about 3 ' tail 7' wing span and equipped arsenal protecting her eggs, Raccoon decided that there were other things to do and left. Amazing creatures. Youngest is about 2 days old. Getting bigger each day they have their hands full now

Just watched the male bring in a gull and feed the little ones. Looks like the smallest is not going to make it.

I was born & raised in Pgh. & graduated from Pitt, but moved west 30 yrs ago. One of my family still back there sent me that story. Pretty neat. I read that besides the nest with the eggs hatching, there were at least 2 other eagles currently nesting at other spots in the hills above the rivers.
Quite a change in the city from back when my summer job was cleaning out the slag from the open hearth furnace at the J&L southside steel mill.

He is the one that is only think three days old, that is what I thought about the second one. Hope all will be fine. At least I had a tendency after the first was born to compare one against the other. The oldest seems to be getting a little rowdy There are going to have their hands full soon

HI there.
Yes, last year we had 1 eaglet born, if I recall nest was up the river in Crescent. Yes, a big change in Pittsburgh from those days. We are a combination PSU and Pitt if you can imagine that Have to ask, did you have a chance to see the stored segment when the Raccoon decided he wanted to get to the three eggs. Can only imagine what that raccoon was thinking when he got up into that nest " OH CRAP what did I get into now "
Be Safe and Happy Camping

Update "home alone"
cabinfever; Your little guy coming along, youngest and smallest
UPDATE: Looks like parents stepping up training in the nest. Parents are leaving the three eaglets alone more and more. At least I think it is training they are getting pretty active SO she may just need a BREAK Seems like Male is in nest less and less, may be the kids but still providing food.

Concerned; Little one in there will two big bullies now. Getting close to a million views/viewers. Mother spent most of day shading them with her wings. Was trying to estimate size of nest based on size of parents thought I read their wing span was 7' and 3' tall ? I assume the black color is feathers coming in. I am sure they will be raising hell here very soon
