Well our old 2001 Laramie 2500 5.9 with small chip and RV275 5 speed manual and 3.55's injectors would get about 11 pulling and I could get 20 on the highway empty.

The 2016 3500 Laramie DRW HO Aisin 3.73 I get 10 to 11 mpg towing, and I can get to 18 mpg "empty" on the highway usually closer to 16 mpg, part of the issue is the TV scales at 10,000# "empty".

I had a 2005 5.9 slt 4x4 . Mine like yours have become collectible in just 15 years..
I sold mine in 2008..(bought a suv)tried to buy it back a couple months later because I missed it but the guy wanted to tack on several thousand dollars.I passed on principle. Ended up buying a new 2009 Hemi 2500 for work...then got my 2012...I still miss the 5.9.
I have a 2004 Hemi 1500 Hemi that used to be my sons..dropped a valve in it last summer. Haven’t got around to putting a new motor in it ,That’s our “beater” truck for around the house because NOBODY drives my personal truck lol. That’s my “ sure, take my truck “ truck for going to Home Depot
We have enough vehicles that something needs to go. I love the 2500 and hate to see it go. DW said I could keep it but either my car or “it” will have to go....
Still on the fence but I’ll probably part with the truck.

At a 174k it burnt a piston from a bad injector (had motor rebuilt), at 195 had torque converter “shutter”, new all billet triple disc converter trans, plus all the other stuff. It now has 207k. Just had rust pop through on both quarters, so I’ll take a bath on it however it is probably gonna go. Depends on what it goes for. I DO love the truck....

That is what I call putting a $500 saddle on a $50 horse. When a vehicle gets over 150k miles and an engine or trans needs rebuilding/replacing time for a new vehicle even if it is a new to me vehicle. At that point you are buying a new vehicle a piece at a time. Just my .02

Those rims look amazing. What brand? Are they rated for ~3200 lbs like the stock rims?
