We have a 3k watt inverter type. Worked very well and will start our 13.5k Dometic A/C.
That said, we haven't used the generator much since adding our 200 watt solar kit.
Generator size depends on what appliances you want to run in your Springdale.
But, if you plan to run the A/C you'll need at least 3KW output.

Your trailer has a 30 amp input from shore power, so that equates to a 3600 watt generator. Anything in the 3200-3600 watt size will power the entire trailer roughly the same as shore power.

When looking for a generator, you DO NOT want a "construction generator", you want an "inverter generator". The cadillac of generators is the Honda line. They will likely cost you as much as your trailer, so unless you're looking to spend "loads of money" you would do much better to look at the "more affordable inverter lines"...

Champion makes a good line. They market 2000 watt units that can be used alone or paired to provide more power. Output is about 1800 watts sustained, so a pair would give you 3600 watts, the same as the max your trailer can handle. Harbor Freight also makes an "up and coming generator line" the Predator line.

Right now, Champion 3200 watt inverter generators start about $600 and go up from there depending on features. I've seen the 2000 watt version on sale for $349 at Blain's Fleet and Farm this summer, so they may fit your budget.

Why an "inverter generator over a construction generator" ???

N O I S E !!!!! Most campgrounds will not allow you to use a generator that intrudes on the entire campground. A construction generator makes as much noise as a "LOUD LAWN MOWER".... Most inverter generators are significantly quieter and many are so quiet that you can carry on a conversation while standing next to it while it's powering your trailer....

So, 1: Inverter Generator, 2: 3200-3600 watt total size, 3. Champion or Harbor Freight are among the best buys "pricewise"......
