Generator vs inverter.

I plan to bring my bring my gen to Alaska next summer regardless but looking for opinions.

My camper has a small 200w solar panel on the roof. It also comes with 2 standard battery’s I’ll probably upgrade to 4 6v golf cart battery’s.

I wouldn’t worry about overnight power as the panel should replenish the battery’s somewhat with the extended sunlight. However I have a cpap and will need AC power.

So do I spend the money on an inverter or just use the gen?

It depends on your CPAP. I have a ResMed with a detachable humidifier. I can run off a ResMed converter or plug into a small 100w inverter off the camper battery and be fine without the dehu

I have a ResMed 11. I will have to look into this converter.

I installed a 12v “lighter socket” in my bedside stand so I can run either a small inverter or the ResMed converter. The ResMed also came with a socket and alligator clips to attach to a battery. It is really a great kit.

My CPAP is 12-24v DC anyways, so I technically could just connect to a battery without all the hoopla, but the ResMed unit is a pure sine wave power conditioner so it’s easier on the CPAP than “dirty” power might be.
