fresh water tank

We have now been camping twice in our new High Country 310RE, the first trip we filled the fresh water tank and when we got to our camping spot some 175 miles from home we only had 1/3 tank of water, we thought maybe we had gotten an air lock when filling and didn't get it full. So this past weekend we were going again and made sure to fill tank slowly as to not get an air lock while filling. Made sure it was full this time, wife followed behind me pulling side x side and watched it gush water out of the over flow vent everytime I made a right turn. We went to a different camp spot this time 130 miles from home and lost 1/2 tank of water. Anyone ever have this problem also?? Thinking to install a valve in the overflow.

It happens on my Alpine. I’m going to cork the overflow while traveling.

Do you have a plan on how your going to do that?
Have you looked in there to see what size hose is on that overflow?

The cover on my vent/overflow comes off. I think I’ll be able to trim a cork to fit in there and the cover will slide back down over it. When I get to a park and I’m level again I’ll remove the cork.

That cover should just push off vertically.
I've heard that re routing the fill hose with a taller loop helps.
But a cork from a wine bottle and 5 minutes with your pocket knife should work too.

I had a guy on MOC tell me that he puts a boat plug in his and then takes it out when he gets where he is going. I might try this.

Our 255SRL has the same problem, I need to find something to plug the overflow while traveling.

I also noticed a lot of small white plastic chunks on the inside of the screen in the overflow. I took the screen out and ran a lot of water out the overflow before I put the screen back in.
