Electrical / Fuses

Hello to all we are newbies. We just purchased a new bullet 217 rbs. Just did our walk thru with dealer last weekend. I have a question about the 40 amp fuse. It says to replace with littlefuse type 257. When I look for this fuse online the littlefuse comes up as an indicator type for 12 bucks a pop. The bussman 40 amp non indicating fuse runs 4 bucks a pop for 5 fuses. Has any one used the cheaper ones? And does it matter. With only 2 of these fuses it wouldn't really be very hard to figure out which one blew.

I am with you I would go the cheaper route on that one. and it would be very easy to see which one popped

Littelfuse 257 ATO is now obsolete according to their website and has been replaced by ATOF 32V series. Not sure which model Bussman you are referring to but it is most likely the ATC 32V model.
I looked at the fuse time current curves and they are pretty close, not enough to make a difference in this application.
I would go with the least expensive ones.
