Our Vantage has the free standing, fold down table and it's not very stable either. From the looks of it the prob is because all of the support is from lightweight legs in the center section of the table. If they were heavier or spread further apart (or better yet, designed like some where the edge along the wall hooks into a strip on the wall and there's one folding leg on outer edge) I think it'd be much more stable.
