Cold weather freeze protection

Does anyone leave the heat on in a parked 5er when temp is expected below freezing? Any issues?

Are you talking about a rig that's been winterized and is just sitting through the winter? If so then you're not worried about pipes freezing, etc. Ours is winterized and covered. We don't get a lot of freezing weather here in Oregon but we have had some years of sub-freezing conditions that would last several days. I leave a ceramic heater on in our rig that is set at it's lowest setting to keep the edge off during those events. We've never had a problem.

If running heat in high humidity areas, such as Oregon, you should leave a vent open or use a dehumidifier to help with condensation. Be sure there's nothing pressed tightly against an outside wall, such as your mattress or dinette seat cushions, this also causes condensation.

I live in Panama city Beach - close to you. Temps tonight are expected to hit as low as about 30 for only an hour or so. Normally I wouldn't bother to leave heat on or even winterize for such a short period. It takes a period of about 4 or 5 hours at 30 or below to do a solid freeze. I know - I lived in Colorado at 6000 ft for 30 years.

Having said that, and because I happened to go the trailer in the lot yesterday, I blew out the water lines and drained the hot water tank.
(I have a new trailer and was seeing how easy it was do do that)
