Oven question?

Hi over the years we have had several different RV, trailer ovens that we used successfully.
Our new Springdale trailer’s oven cooks to a crisp. Any suggestions? Does it need to be somehow adjusted?
Thanks
Steve

If I had to choose between crisp or soggy ... crisp would win every time.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say but if you cannot control the temperature of your oven check to see if the metal bulb that senses oven temp is held in place properly. You should have received a manual for your specific make and model oven but if not they are available online. Look for trouble shooting instructions. JM2¢, Hank

Most mechanical thermostat ranges have an offset built into the knob for temperature adjustment. The range will have a "temperature swing" if you set at 350 the oven may go up to 385 and down to 315. an old oven thermometer will get you "close" but don't open the door and look at the darn thing to often, repair mans worst enemy.

RV ovens are notorious for being inaccurate. We just carry a thermometer that is placed inside the oven. Once you do it a few times at different temps you get a feel for the variance.

In addition to the previous responses, I've found a 12" pizza stone on the rack helps to moderate the temperature. It is especially helpful minimizing hot spots.

Sad but true, RV ovens are allowed to be up to 50* off and still be considered “good”. As a serious baker, I’m not real happy but like others I keep an oven thermometer in the trailer.

My wife has burned many of things when trying to use the oven. But once she figured out the temperature setting was off from the knob, the oven now works great. She normally bakes something at least once per trip.
