Outdoor kitchen door on 2015 Outback 312BH

We recently purchased a used 15 Outback 312Bh. I noticed the door was seemed low when it was open, so low that I 5'11" have to duck a couple inches to not bang my head.

I thought the shocks were bad, so I replaced them and it didn't fix the problem, I even reversed them "upside down" from how the factory had them. Is the door supposed to be low? 2 of my other friends have campers with outdoor kitchens and I can walk under theirs with no worries of hitting my head.

Mine sticks out at about a 90 degree angle from the top of the opening.

Struts come in different lengths and strength. You may be able to get longer struts, just make sure you have enough space to retract the rod.

I am 6’3” and have the same problem with my “new to me” 2013 Laredo 291TG. Thinking of moving the lower mounts up about 2” which should raise the door edge up about 5” if my calculations are close. Anybody tried that?
