2016 F350 leveling

Has anyone taken the blocks out on the rear axle on F350?
As my wife and I are getting older it’s getting hard to get in back of our pickup.
I was looking at it and looks like without the block would let it drop about three inches.
When we bought this pickup we had to get extra long hitch drop to get our trailer level.
I see all of the Fords look higher in back.
I’m sure if we removed the blocks we would have to get headlights adjusted.

Head over to powerstroke.org as there will be some answers there for sure. I have a 2006 and don't see any blocks under my truck so can't begin to guess what to tell you. I personally would get some running board steps to get up into the cab. I do understand how a high truck gets to be a bit of an athletic feat as my wife and I get older.

Are you talking about getting into the bed of the truck when you say "get in back of our pickup"? I use a folding aluminum step platform like this https://www.harborfreight.com/step-s...=step+platform. I've found it helps make it easier getting in and out of mine.

As an aside, altering the rear axle spring height will alter the geometry of the driveline and suspension as well. If the pinion angle is off it can cause the differential and u joint on the drive shaft to prematurely wear or worse. There's also the potential for damage to the rear shocks if the over extend or bottom out. As it involves more than a simple headlight adjustment I'd consult with a reputable suspension shop before making that decision.

I suppose if lowering the rear was the only goal. Dump sand in the bed until it sits level.

I have to get into the back of my pickup to connect/disconnect my safety chains. I use an adjustable height platform step and put it under the lowest of my three trailer steps to provide a lower platform forgetting up or down; otherwise the lowest step is about 14 or 15 inches off the ground. I move this step over to the tail gate on my pickup and use it to climb in when doing the safety chains.

If getting in and out of the bed is the only issue, have you considered going to a junk yard and buying a Ford superduty tail gate with the ladder/stripper pole? You can usually find one for around $200 without the camera or $300 with. If you're lucky, you can even find one is the correct color, avoiding having it repainted. Shop around, what's not available today will often be surplus tomorrow at many junk yards.

There's several steps available if you need side access to the bed.

For high quality and use at the truck plus in/around the trailer, we love this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Comes in 2 or 3 step version. Rock solid stabile - folds nice & flat. We use most when needing access to our auxiliary fuel tank/tool box combo.

Maybe a firewall issue? The site works fine for me.

Sorry, I am supposedly connected via VPN to a Dallas server but it is actually a London server. No comprende but it doesn't really matter if others can see the links. Thanks

If you're connected "through a London (England ???) server, there's likely a block on the website that only allows access from specific geographic areas. This website had, at one time, blocks that would not allow specific IP locations from accessing the forum. Possibly, your "route through the internet" is the problem.

I have to use a VPN to access my business email and website for admin. Won't get into the gory details but I chose cyberghost because of the shining reviews. Turns out it is based in Romania and little way to get any tech support (answering questions). I don't understand many of the ins and outs. It is installed on a number of different machines now so changing would be a pain.

ROMANIA? And you made fun of my Scots Irish ?

Northern Tool is a retail outfit with a few sticks & bricks locations in Southern Virginia. I'm not aware of their website controls so I won't postulate about that. I'm sure similar products can be found on many other websites.

There is or at least was a Northern Tool in San Antonio and I hardly shopped there because HF is a bunch cheaper if you are going low end Chinese made stuff. I used to do tools and such in Sears and was a Craftsman fan till they sort of fell apart under the careful supervision of K-Mart. I guess Craftsman is now sold in some hardwares and a big box home improvement store chain.

Probably not the cheapest option but there are suspension company’s running airbags that let you squat the truck to aid in getting in or out of the truck or the bed.
