Knoxville TN

On our way back from Knoxville.
We stayed at Norris Dam State Park and I recommend it highly.
There are 2 camping loops, East and West on the East and West side of the dam. But you guessed that.
We called and were told that West is newer has 50 AMP and water and trees. East is smaller, only has 30 AMP and water and is mostly sunny. We like sunny coming from Upstate NY so East it is.
Office was closed so the procedure is to find a site that is empty and doesn't have a white Reserved tag and set up.
On the way into East loop I grumbled about steep hills and sharp curves but the sites were dead easy to set up in and facilities were clean and nice.
We toured the pool and museum and the dam. Nice.
We also took a look at West loop. Way steeper road and sharper curves and I don't think the sites are as nice but we did see some pretty big motor homes on the road and at the loop so you pick.

Just be glad you got a chance to come to God's country for a visit.....

Got a son, daughter-in-law and first grandson in Knoxville so it's not our first visit.
Been trying to get my wife to move to Greeneville for ever.

Awesome, I hope you have a nice visit and a safe trip. We've been here since 2006 and I don't think my dually could drag me out of here....we love. Have fun

TN state parks are some of the best I have encountered. I have heard Norris is nice but haven't been there yet. We moved to East TN 6 years ago from MI and love it here.
