Look at the date code on them... more than 2 years old... replace them.

I went Carlisle HD this time and so far so good, little over 7k miles in a year..

I purchased 5 Carlisle HD tires through Walmart and had my local tire shop install them (it was still cheaper than buying the SAME exact tire through him and having them mounted). They are great tires. Keep them inflated to the pressure on the tire, and use a TPMS to monitor the pressure on trips.

X2 on the above, have them balanced with metal valve stems. A TPMS is an investment you won't regret.

This morning I had 5 Carlisle HD mounted and balanced for the boat trailer. I realized a couple weeks ago the OEM tires were 5 years old. Went with 205 75 14 LR D which was the same size but one LR higher, from WalMart.com. I have galvanized spoke wheels and I hope they will hold the increased pressure from 50psi to 65. None of the specs on the back of the wheel were legible. It looked like they galvanized over the stamped writing.
Price? $50 each with free mounting! I had WalMart install new valve stems and had them balanced. I put them back on the trailer and torqued them.
WalMart will not remove or install tires on a trailer with a load on it.
So now I have Carlisle HD on the 5th wheel, the utility trailer, and the bay boat. Next year the GoDevil boat trailer will be due.

They are only good enough until they blow up or are replaced immediately upon reaching the nearest tire shop, whichever comes first.

Just replaced my 4yo towmax with Carlisle HDs. Couldn’t be happier. I no longer has anxiety about those TM tires coming apart. Didnt notice a difference is the ride, but did see where they have a stiffer sidewall when manauvering at storage and the camp ground. Walmart had them on sale, went to Discount Tire. DT tire matched the price, ordered them, and two days later installed them at their location. Stupid easy, should have done it sooner.

Tunnel, your tires were built about the 15th of September, 2008 and your RV "could" have been built as early as April or May in 2009. Remember that RV manufacturers like to get that model year out early, early! But this much we know for a fact: Your previous owner somehow managed to keep those pieces of trash on that rig for TEN years.

I have a 2008 Raptor 3600RL. I just got this 5er this year and I'm new to RVing. My question is can I change from the stock 15 inch tires to 16s and is it recommended?

By all means you can as long as you have 6 lug rims. An E rated 16" tire will be the best you can do, though that would be better than having 15" tires in my opinion. You also gain the choice of more tire options too with 16" tires.

Not by the vehicle manufacturer.

Tires

I am not questioning anyone on here opinion but when I Google trailer king tire reviews it is mostly positive they say a few people have reported blow outs with heavy loads.i have then on my cougar 28ft .they have about 600 miles on them I am about ready to dump them.from what I read on this site.i usually put about 500 miles a year to seasonal site and back .hopefully I can pull off another year with them that would be 1100 total miles on China bombs.I have two spares and probably just go the speed limit and pray.

Eastham,

Do a "forum search" for "China bomb" or for "Trailer King" and you'll get a substantially different set of "opinions" from users. I won't say that Google is biased or that they "front load their advertising money" or that the Trailer King marketing section has any influence on which remarks are "front loaded" but I will say that the results on this forum and on most other "trailer forums" is much less favorable than what you report.

As for reliability, you don't indicate how much weight you're towing, how old the tires are, whether they have been properly stored and maintained nor any other history about "your specific tires" so it's hard to say whether you'll have any problems or not.

I will say that most damage to trailers occurs when a tire blowout happens and the "flapping tread" destroys the trailer sidewall and wheelwell. It doesn't matter, at that point, whether you have two or three or a truckload of spares, the damage has already occurred.

If you have guessed that I am not "fan" of Trailer King tires, you guess correctly. I wouldn't put them on my lawn mower !!!!!

Eastham, all we can do is give advice, we can't spend your money for you. I did a quick search on another large RV site and the VERY FIRST PARAGRAPH was as follows: "Before I bought my Class A I had a 5th wheel toy hauler that came with Tow Max (read Trailer King) tires. It had triple axels so I had 6 tires. Within 4 months of ownership I had 2 tires blow up. I had the remaining 4 inspected and was told 2 were ready to blow and the remaining two were close.
Pray all you want, but I'm suspecting that God would want you to be safe, not lucky.
