Slideout problem

2006 Laredo 308 TT. I am in NH and camper on my property in FL. Will be headed down in couple weeks and req neighbor open it up for me. Batteries all charged 100%. One slide went out okay but other one just clicked. Been having probs with it and in past just took slide wrench and started it then it went out just fine. When he tried it said it would not budge and with extra force applied he heard something snap and now the wrench just spins around. I think he was turning the wrong way (I never had to use much force to start it), but that is neither here nor there. Is there a thought process I should go through before I get down there? Can't seem to find anything on this type of problem. Thanks
Jim
