Best LT tires

I'm new to the forum. I have a 2016 Pasport Elite 23RB and tow it with a 2010 F-150.I need new tires and was wondering about what you all have and like. I have Michelin A/T on it now but are SL rated and think I should have an XL rated tire. Thanks. Lots of neat and helpful info on the forum.

Those Michelin A/Ts are good tires. We use Cooper Discovery here but we have some serious winter driving conditions.

Right now we tow about 25%. Next year probably a lot more. Most travel will be in spring through fall. No winter

I replaced my GY SRAs with Michelin Defender LTX LT tires. I have not driven in the snow with them but they have been great in sun and rain. I looked at the reviews on tire rack online and hey were rated highly. Good luck.

You probably have several Discount Tire shops near you. I would look on their website and see what they stock for your size. Michelin is likely most folks default choice. I would get XL even if Discount has to order them.
I've run a lot of Michelins and never had an issue. Pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I took off OEM Ford F-150 "P" tires and replaced them with LT "E" rated Nitto Terra Grappler in size 275/75/18.

Ride nice, no more noise than stock and seem be wearing well.
Cost me about 1 mpg
Huge appearance advantage over "P" tires.

Depends on your traction requirement. I used to run all season tires and had a need for the increased traction of all terrains. Went from Michelin LTX and Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2's to Nitto Terra Grapplers. Better traction, quiet, compliant ride and seeming to wear well after 10,000 miles. No mileage change.

Depending on your size requirement, you might need the G2 version.

Can't go wrong with any of the three I mentioned...and dittos on Discount Tire. They matched the Walmart price for me.

great tire on my second set if you buy at costco online or at store good price and free rotation , air check.michelin defender ltx 275/70/18 load range E. on 2010 f250 6.4 diesel super duty. 8500 net wieght.

You haven’t provided a tire size for your truck so I’m going to provide a little hypothetical info for you. It’s all about load capacity.

Lets say your OE tires are P235/75R17SL and their sidewall states they will provide 2205#. This is important. When installed on a pick-up truck "P" rated tires MUST be derated. That is done by dividing the 2205# by 1.1. So, their real load capacity for your application is 2004#. To see what your installed tires are providing at the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations you will have to use a load inflation chart and then divide the actual load capacity at those inflation pressure by 1.1 to get the true value for your application.

Lets say you choose the LT245/75R17E tire as your replacement. That tire provides 3195# of load capacity at 80 psi. (Will your current rims work)? For that kind of plus sizing all you have to do is provide the load capacity the OE tires provided for normal every-day operation. The psi needed to do that is going to be much less than 80 psi and the ride will be much better at the correct inflation pressures.

By the way, both of those tire sizes and specs are for Michelin tires.
