Seriously, they call these speakers?

I took delivery of my new Bullet 308BHS 2 days ago. Bought it home, surprised the wife, and finally got a chance to dial up the IRV radio to a normal listening level. Talk about disappointed. The interior speakers work but leave a lot to be desired.

My first mod would be to change out the speakers. Looking for recommendations on interior flush mount speakers. Looks like they are 5" or 6.5". Anyone know for sure? Outside of changing the head unit (maybe next year), I have a $75 dollar budget for new speakers. Would like an aftermarket pair that don't sound like my dad's AM sound box from the 60's.

I agree on the speakers. Make sure the Loudness is turned on and play around with the Bass/Treble. I got it to sound a little better, but still plan on replacing my speakers in the future.

Same here, we were very diappointed to, but after playing around with the reciever, we did get them to sound good enough to deal with until we can get them replaced. Haved tried the outdoor speakers, but if they are the same, then trying to play music on the patio will probably be a waste.

Mine are probably the same but we rarely ever have the radio on and if we watch movies it is usually outside. Hope you fine some nice speakers in your budget.

First thing I did. Go to crutchfield.com and get Infinity Reference or Infinity Kappa speakers.
It definitely improved the sound over the original "tin can" sounding speakers.

I was thinking about these for external: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB65...9116305&awdv=c

The problem is matching the current color. Outside it's gray and inside it's white on my Passport. It's hard to find interior white speakers. I guess I could paint them.

Has anyone tried to stuff with polyfill or use a baffle?

Try looking at the Crutchfield "home audio" speaker section. They have some nice in-ceiling or in-wall white speakers.

That's an option, but you need to make the opening bigger in the ceiling. The in-ceiling speakers are bigger than the current speakers.

With a budget of $75 you can find a number of decent automobile flush mount speakers that will require minimal modification of the hole and will be a big improvement in sound quality. I put a pair of Kenwood coaxial speakers in my Passport. Unfortunately, they are black as most car speakers are. I also replaced the lousy outside speakers (which we use more) with a pair of Polyplanar flush mounts. The Polyplanar speakers are white as many marine rated speakers are. They sound great and would have worked perfectly inside as well. I may make that mod this summer.

Looking at Crutchfield's website, it appears that all the in-home style in-ceiling speakers have an impedance of 8ohms. They cannot be used with the factory iRV 4ohm stereo. Plus, they're WAY too deep to mount in that narrow ceiling space!

I changed out the interior speakers with these: https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KFC-1...=1&*entries*=0

At only $39, it was a very nice improvement. Speakers no longer distort with any low frequencies and they just sound more alive. The flush mount grills did not line up with all the existing screw holes so I just made several more. I couldn't believe how thin the ceiling material was. The speakers have held up nicely for several trips.

Next, i need to upgrade the outside speakers. Anyone have suggestions on a brand? Are they 6.5 " rounds too?

I had these in my boat and they were good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...f_rd_i=desktop

I haven't checked the size on the outside yet.

I just upgraded my exterior speakers. I learned (the hard way) that they are 5.25" not 6.5". The acoustics behind the speakers are really horrible. In the right speaker, it only has 2.25" depth and almost no room. I put some polyfil behind this speaker. The left speaker goes into the area that vents the fridge, so it's just wide open. I wanted to let the silicon dry, so didn't listen too much. My quick observation was that lows don't sound muddy and the highs are clearer.

So on my Bullet, the A speakers are internal, and the C speakers are external. What do the B speakers go to - anything? wondering if we can route those to a subwoofer somewhere....

I believe that B speakers are for a second interior set of speakers. I don't have anything connected to B on mine. I wouldn't connect a subwoofer directly to B.

Speakerbar with wireless sub... that'll probably sound better anyways.

Yep, any quality sound bar or portable blue tooth speaker will sound better than the exterior OEM mud makers. We bought a higher-end portable blue tooth speaker (JBL) to use for our outdoor enjoyment. No after market 5.25" speaker set will compare to these little portable beasts. The power output from the RV's receiver is the weakest link. I did upgrade the interior speakers and it made a difference in clarity, especially when watching movies. Otherwise, it's nice to have a separate audio source (my cellular phone) to manage our listening music outside and keep the kids happy inside with a DVD. We also have a 80 inch projector screen that we set up on the outside of the trailer to do "movie nights" on. The JBL has the low range to better match the visuals.

If you want real poor quality, try the speakers in the awning arms.

Cellular "speaker phone" quality I suppose!

My A speakers are the living/kitchen area, B is the bedroom and C is outside.
