Hauling motorcycles

I am looking at a fuzion 371 or carbon 357 was wondering
How everyone was securing their bikes. I have a cvo street glide and a victory cross country tour. Are you using a wheel chock or just stealing at 4 points?

Harbor Freight sells a self closing wheel chock. You drive into it and it captures the front wheel. You can actually get off of the bike with no kick stand needed. I then used two ratchet straps to pull down and forward.

My Goldwing never so much as budged when transported that way when I had my toybox.

We use wheel chocks in our cargo trailer, but in the toy hauler I built three u-shaped blocks out of 2x4's and slide them in before I strap the bike down in three directions. Sidecar makes it a little easier with the straps.

Generally we tie two bikes down to the 4 points. We have pulled our Fuzion all over the country and have never had issues. I have a Harbor Freight chock that I will occasionally use if I am securing the bikes alone.

I have that system. It's been great. Just be sure if you go that route to tell him that you have the welded in tie downs, not the typical cheesy "d" rings, that way he will supply the right length "j" hooks that hold it down.

What he said, with the exception of the Gold Wing. Mine is a 2011 Ultra Limited. Has never wiggled. They are great chocks. Plus about now HF has them on major sale prices. I think I got two of them for about $98.00 last winter.

I used Condor self locking chocks. I also put ETrac in the floor of the garage. One down each side and one down the middle..

I started using just two straps in the front using soft ties around the frame and highway bar. I also tied down the rear by going through the spokes and around the wheel and cross tied it.. Later I doubled up the front straps when one of them loosened up and the bike leaned over a little... Did not want to take any chances..

we have a 412 Fuzion, and haul a couple of approimate 800 lb. baggers. we use the Condors, yes they are pricey but so are the bikes. Notnig worse that your scooter going down in the trailer. I also use the condors in the garage of our home. I do not bolt them down in the TH, the rachet straps are enough to keep the bikes secure, assuming you are tying it down at four points

I use 1 strap wraped around the engine guard for the front on each side with the Harley leaning on the kick stand onto a old fire place shovel not to much pressure. The back I put the hook right next to the inside of the rear passenger foot pegs witch is the part of the frame.

I bought the removable condor . Copy the orginal mounting plate and sandwiched it between the floor with larger bolts and nylock nuts. Harley doesn't move at all but I still strap it down just in case. After a Laughlin run is over wheel chock comes out. Of coarse mounting plate stays.

Just more crap to carry. My 311 is extremely smooth pulling and have towed in some rugged areas for the last 10.000 miles. Wiil let the table down and play cards and games. I'm about 60 percent rving and try to eliminate any clutter.

Wink Pingel Chocks. . .

I have a F420 TH and I use two removal Pingel mounts for my Street Glide HD and a friend's bike when he travels with us. This way I can remove the garage carpet and hook in the chock and then replace the carpet while glamping for the bedroom setup.

The brackets stay screwed into the floor but aren't noticeable while the carpet is rolled out.

When I bought my bike in Yuma I ask the dealer how they secure there bikes when transporting them, Bobby J the owner came out with this chock and extra hard wear that I installed at a casino park. I like because the hardware is out of the way after the chuck is off. http://www.hannarv.com/P/PingelWhlChockMtgKit/14867

X2 on the wheel dock. Cant imagine what went on back there last trip, went thru the whooptees, appears the rear end got high and low enough to crush my battery charger. Bike stayed upright.
