OEM LED Lights - Dimmer Mod

Hello,

I am glad the new camper came equipped with all LED's. I really like the ones with the metal band that you touch to turn on. That is really classy. However, at night, I like it a little less bright. I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to add a dimmer to the main cabin lights.

I would also like to have a dimmer for the outside LED strip. That strip lights up the whole camp!

Any thoughts or idea would be appreciated.

You will need to find out the type LEDs you are referring to then look up info on them to see if they are the type that can be dimmed. Not all Leds can be dimmed

Sorry, I am uncertain how to find out the type. If they are dim-able, what options do I have to put a dimmer into my control panel in place of the switch.

I want it to look sweet and be functional too.

Go Huskers!

On our fixtures you can remove the lens cover. Kind of a squeeze and pull thing. There'll be a manufacturer P/N and possibly their name. The dual fixture in our cabin is model #PY830-1. A quick web search took me here: http://asia-manufacturer.com/manufac...100118049.html
No mention if they are dimmable. Replacing the rocker switch in our control panel would not be a problem. They do make a compatible dimmer for the panel. I just keep one side of the dual fixtures turned on at the fixture. Cuts the lumens by 1/2 and works well for us.
If things work out and we need a little "mood lighting" we light a candle
Good Luck

Bought one of these from Amazon for$15 works awesome. I also didn't like having to hunt around in the dark on the control panel to find the main lights, so I moved it over to the same place as the"hall light"

Olsen,

That is sweet. I will be ordering one to try out. For $15, it is worth the try. I also don't like the hunt in the dark...

Appreciate the help!

They are made for 12v led. I think you run into trouble with 110v led and dimmers.
