Mounting bike rack to bumper of Passport

I have a 2013 Passport trailer. Is the sewer hose tube/bumper strong enough to mount a receiver to for a receiver mount bike rack for four bikes.

The short and real answer is NO. The welds aren't the weak link, it's the thin sheet metal bumper.

The only safe way to carry bikes on the rear of your trailer is have a receiver hitch welded/mounted/fabricated to the frame rails. Find yourself an adjustable universal hitch like this and take it into a welding shop. It cost me about $300 for a local welder to do mine.

Or mount them to the front of the truck.

I would not do it - just too much weight back there. Also it would put allot of twisting forces on the bumper.

I installed a hitch on our previous fifth wheel (CrossRoads Cruiser fifth wheel) when it was past the warranty.

I decided to put a front hitch on our truck this time. May put a hitch on the rear of trailer in a few years if we don't like how the front hitch works out.

Take a look at this thread:
