The mount on both TVs in our 310BHS extend and swivel, but do not allow for tilting the TV up or down. The 24" Sansui LED in the living area has a great picture--as long as you're viewing it straight-on. If you sit at the couch or the dinette, you lose some of the brightness and contrast out of the picture due to the viewing angle.
Well, with a 4" wide scrap of #356 baseboard molding (painted black) and 4 longer deck screws, I was able to pitch the TV about 15 degrees downward and now it's perfect! This way I don't have to buy a different mount. The mount has 8 screw holes, but I added 2 more for good measure; since angling the mount changes the stress imposed on the fasteners.
And YES, the stowage strap still works fine.
