Flag pole

Here are a few pics of my flag pole mount. I welded two pieces of steal pipe to my spare tire carrier and drilled and tapped them for some set screws. My pole is three 10' sections if aluminum tubing that fit inside each other and not the box store thin wall crap. There is a pulley at the top of the pole so I can raise and lower the flag as needed. Everything fits into a 10' piece of 4" PVC that is mounted to the frame. I also added an LED work light to the top of my ladder so I can use it to light the area behind the trailer or light the flag after sunset. I put the switch in the front pass through compartment.

Love it! The first thing I'm adding to our 5r when we get it, is a flag now that we will have a ladder.

Great!

I've been researching and thinking of way to do this on my Cougar. Current obstacle to overcome is that i don't have a ladder for that upper end support. Your pics gave me so great ideas. Now if only I knew how to weld....

The first pic is the top pole. Just an eye an clip. The pulley I used has the rope threaded through it. I have stainless clips on each end of the rope that the top and bottom of the flag attach to or when flying two flags I use a double sided clip. This is as close to a real flag pole as it gets. I am still tweaking it a little. I think the pulley setup could be better so that the flag doesn't fly 4" below the top if the pole. I might drill out the pulley's axle and bolt it directly to the pole.
