Smile Hi! Just got a 2024 Cougar Half Ton 25RDSWE!

Hi! My husband and I just traded in our 2021 Lance 850 Truck Camper (hubby did not like the small space) for a 2024 Keystone Cougar 25RDSWE! We love the new rig! Haven't taken it out yet. Getting everything set up, and honestly kinda scared! We live in Central California. We plan on going to the central coast, i.e. Pismo Beach.

We have 4 little dogs, and 2 adult'ish children. We love travelling, scuba diving, following professional surfing and sitting! We're big fans of sitting! LOL

Looking forward to connecting with this community!

Wishing everyone lots of fun and adventure!

Welcome guys! We too traded our Lance (1885 travel trailer in our case) for a 2023 Cougar 22MLSWE. So far we love the new trailer and we enjoy sitting also. Have fun!

Hi Dave!

We almost got the 22MLSWE! Awesome open floor plan! Loved it! We decided on the 25RDSWE because our son can use the bigger dinette for sleeping.

Lance makes such a quality product! But, the keystone floor plans are just so nice!

Thanks for the welcome!

Use the quote function when thanking or replying to a specific person... just curious; you have the four dog critters and two kids in your Lance 850? We had a very similar Lance truck camper and I had to get rid of it as the missus wasn't taken with the wet bath shower situation and taking a shower caused a bunch of humidity.

Hi from an East Coast Cougar 2022 25RDS

Hi--

My husband and I bought an East Coast version of the same camper last year. The only differences I can see are that you don't have a front window (which isn't bad-- won't leak and the bedroom stays dark and cool) and the rest are cosmetic.

We have no children, but we love scuba diving (live on the water in FL, have a boat. We also sometimes surf the east coast of Florida!

We have a two week trip to the Keys in August to dive-- he's towing the camper and I am towing the boat.

Have fun!

Welcome

We have a 2020 Cougar 24sabwe.over 80,000 miles on it. Love it.
just 2 of us but we fit well & pray you do in yours.
Made several mods but the first one was for not opening it up when we pull over for breaks.
Not a good idea to walk on the edge of the slide when pulled in. It will break of & no warranty coverage.
Made a 3/4" x 3" board that length. After slide is pulled in slide the board under the slide edge & we walk on it.
be sure to pull it out before extending the slide.
We also tie the bathroom door open to walk end to end w/slide in.
We stuff chore-girl pads into the slide openings when parked. Keeps the critters out - but don't forget to remove them before retracting the slide.
Great to have 2 doors & lots of room.
Next project is moving the drawer beneath the rear bench sest to above the front, making a drop leaf table & using chairs for seating. You might need something else for seating.
We also replaced the lounge seats with rockers.

Hi Debbie and Family. If you are heading down to Pismo with doggies I highly recommend a stop in Cayucas. Dog friendly beach and the local bakery is awesome.
Morro Bay State park is also nice.
PM me if you want more info on the area. We are somewhat local and that is are short trip go to place.

Hi wiredgeorge! Thank you for the tip! 👍🏼

Sooooo, long story about our Lance 850. Originally we got it just for day trips. My husband can’t handle the small TC. LOL. But, I loved it and started taking it everywhere! I started begging my husband to go with me. Finally, I got him to stay one night at Flying Flags Avila Beach. He hated sleeping in the confined space. It was sad (but a little funny) when he said “I’m gonna panic in here” 🤣. Our son went with me a lot when he was 15-17. But never our older daughter. Most that slept in it at one time was 2 ppl and 1 dog. I can’t even imagine 4 dogs and 4 ppl!!! But I’d love to see it!!

I apologize for the late reply. I thought I’d get a notification if someone replied to me.

Happy camping!⛺️

Hi Sailshonan!

We love this floor plan! Ours does have the front window. Honestly, I don’t see much difference between the east and west coast versions. Being able to see out both ends is glorious! I do worry about rocks breaking that front window though 😬.

We love diving so much. But not into CA diving anymore. Too cold! We love Cozumel & Hawaii, but 💸🤪. We have been looking into wreck dives is FL! You guys have some really fun sites!

My goal this year is to start learning to surf 🏄🏻. I love watching pro surfing! I’m really excited for that!

2 weeks in the Keys to dive sounds absolutely amazing!! Key Lime pie 🍋*🟩 on a hungry after dive belly….yes please!! 🤣

Hi Dogon!

We love the central coast! We’ve only stayed at Pismo Coast Village & Flying Flags Avila. I didn’t even think about Cayucas. Dogs AND pastries?? I’m in!! 🐶 🧁 Are there RV Parks there? We go to Pismo often (not always in an RV). My brother lives in Templeton so we are in the area to see him and the fam.

We want to do some Harvest Hosts near you, and that new one is Paso! That looks fun!🤩

Thank you for your reply! 😀

Hi!!

Great information!! Thank you soooo very much for sharing! 80,000!!!! Well, you are definitely an expert!! I heard that about not walking on the slide when it’s in. We can’t walk through when the slide is in 🙁. To use the bathroom we can go through the bedroom door, but to use kitchen, we need to use the rear door. But haven’t even gone 1 mile yet!!! 🤣. Next weekend is our first trip!! We’re waiting for a new converter that should be here Wednesday. Our current WFCO converter isn’t auto detecting 👎🏻 our lithium batteries.

Cant wait for the shake down! 🤣
